Pakistani Trip pre-wedding Haldi Ceremony

Hello everyone, if you read my previous blog, then you know that I went to Pakistan to attend two weddings. I went there for 2 weeks. Before wedding they have traditional to have Haldi Ceremony.  Where sisters, aunts and female cousins apply a paste made from haldi (turmeric) on the groom/bride's face, hands and feets. Because I went to attend two weddings (my husband's sister's and brother's) so we had to apply on their both faces. It is beautifying ceremony to prepare the bride/groom for the upcoming nuptials. Usually that evening women and the bride of course got decorated with mehndi (henna). The designs are far more elaborate and intricate for the bride and cover her hands and feet. This can take hours. The henna stains the skin a lovely reddish brown and lasts up to a week. The tricky part is that when you have mehndi applied to your skin, you can't touch it or wash it off until it dries completely. The longer you will leave, the darker colour will be. Because we did Haldi Ceremony almost one week before wedding, we didn't apply henna, because it was too early.

Bridal mehndi (picture from here)
Traditionally, many days or even week before actual wedding day, women will gather in the house of the bride at night to sing and dance while accompanied by instrument Dholak. (you will see my video below).

Traditional bride wears yellow outfit. After the ceremony the bride does not leave the house until the wedding day.

With bride :) sorry, I had to cut her face..

REVIEW ON L'ORÉAL PRÉFÉRENCE GLAM HIGHLIGHTS

Before holidays I wanted to dye my hair's roots. But unfortunately I was too busy and didn't find time to go to salon. So in my head came one crazy idea.... To try to do by myself at home. Maybe 10 years ago I had very bad experience with ''home hair salon'', and I thought I am not gonna do that mistake again never ever. But when you have no time to go to people who knows what they are doing, and you want to look nice and ''fresh'' on holidays, you have just one choice - to try :)))

So I bought L'OREAL Preference Glam Highlights Light to very Light Blond 1.

The box comes with:

The main reason why I choose this box is because it comes with 'Expert Highlights Brush', which looks not that hard to use ( plus in my mind was that my husband will help to do back of my hairs). Also in the kit comes Lightening Powder,  Developer Creme + Applicator Cap, Lightening Creme, Conditioning Shampoo (which one didn't work that good as usually comes with hair colourant) and gloves.

How to use?

Of course before starting you have to wear gloves and to mix hair color mixture.
1. Then to part hairs into two section from the back.
2. Fully saturate all three section of the Expert Highlights Brush with the product, keep the brush vertical so the three prongs follow the natural direction of your hair.
3. Starting at your roots, use the brush begin applying the product.
4. Continue applying on the lengths and tips, proceed in the same manner around the rest of your head. Before each stroke, make sure the brush is fully with product.
5. Wait between 25-45 minutes
6. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water without removing the gloves.

Review

To use this kit on your own it's easy. Maybe you will need help to apply on your back of your hairs, because you can't see by yourself. But for me was easier because I have different case. As you can see in the picture that my half of hairs are in brown and I decided to leave as it is. Just one thing disappointed - the results (colour and conditioning shampoo). I got a bit orange, ginger colour. But I guess I chose not right colour (my colour should be number 2). And after washing my hairs with Conditioning Shampoo my hairs was still rough. Resume: if colour would be fine, then I would use it all the time on my own without salon help. It is really great product, and easy to apply.

And those two pictures after. Sorry I didn't have chance to take proper picture, because after my experiment my friends came to take me for last dinner together. So picture in the left is after hair dying. And picture in the right is me next day, Where you can see that hairs are more yellow than it was before dying.

Trip to Pakistan (London - Lahore)

If you following me on Instagram then you know that recently I went for holidays to Pakistan. The reason of this holiday is to attend two weddings - my husband's sister's and brother's (it's mean in total will be 4 ceremonies). I am really excited about that, but a little bit worry about weather. 40 degree and more at day time. Aaaa, how I am going survive in that hot weather?? )

Waiting for boarding :)
First time fly with PIA
Yay holidays starts
Waiting waiting... :)
And finally in the plane, ready for journey :)
First time I had flight with PIA, and it is not very good feedback about it (food, seats..) but the main reason why we choose PIA, because we had only one option to fly direct to Pakistan. We reached Pakistan in 8 hours, (so its better than to fly for example with Emirates till Dubai 8 hours, then to wait for connection flight 3-4 hours and to had again 4 hours flight). That 8 hours flight is already tiring. Another reason, our flight is to Lahore, but we are going to Sialkot ( so we have to spend more 3 hours in the car). :)

Lahore airport parking
So finally after 8 hours in the plane we reached Pakistan. It was really good feeling to get out from airport, but... that hot hit to our face :)) ok ok it was not that bad, because it was 6 o clock in the morning, but comparing with London weather it was totally different :)

Hello there :)) and yes, I changed my clothes, because I was only one in the place white girl, so I really don't want to get more attention, than I was already  got
Out of airport territory. Nice, tidy and green.

Public transport in Pakistan cities

In Pakistan you can see so many people on the road at 6 o'clock in the morning. I guess enjoying cool weather
We reached home at 9 clock, so still was not so hot. And that day was very nice, perfect breakfast with family and so much chat.

I also made a Youtube video of my trip. If you want to see, press link bellow :
